File this under "Things You Thought You'd Never See A Public Radio Host Do." But hey, a bet is a bet! Mitch Wertlieb and Jane Lindholm make good on their promise to make a Call Me Maybe video if we met this morning's $25,000 challenge. Who says public radio people don't have rhythm? Enjoy!
'Call Me Maybe' looking like C. Nardozzi to this VPR ex-pat.
ReplyDeletePutting the F-U-N in fundraising! Public radio really does rock. Thank to Mitch and Jane and the rest of the VPR crew for adding a smile to the day.
ReplyDeleteI have an old Mac, so got a herky-jerky version of the video. I was hearing the song, which I'm not hip enough to know or care. I keep seeing the phone numbers flashing, but it took well into the final moments before my brain caught up with ears & eyes...... phone number, "Call Me, Maybe' ; DUH !!!!!,
ReplyDeleteit's Fund Raising time!
Our VPR hosts keep their promise! Nice job!! :-)

ReplyDeleteVPR never disappoints. Much love to you Mitch and Jane!
ReplyDeleteNot bad for on the fly and great idea on the phone #. If I was not a sustaining member I would have called in to donate this morning to make this happen. Great sport Mitch!
ReplyDeleteI am a sustaining member, but I called an pitched in a few more bucks, just so I could watch this...well worth every penny!
DeleteVery clever and entertaining! We Vermonters LOVE our public radio station (and the fun people who work there!)
ReplyDeleteGreat video, Mitch and Jane! Nice to see you having fun while promoting VPR in a creative way. This listener enjoyed seeing the inside of VPR's offices and catching glimpses of the many folks who make VPR happen.

Can we get a gangnam style video next?!? I think thats probably worth another 25K of pledges.
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not a career councilor, here's a piece of friendly advice: perhaps you're not quite ready to trade in your brilliant radio careers for a future in show biz.
ReplyDeleteWhat joyful fun this is!
ReplyDeleteI am a new sustaining member... how sweet it is to know that a) the membership goal was met the other day, and b) my donation may have helped in the creation of this awesome video. Great job on both accounts. Can you do Robyn's "call your girlfriend" next?
ReplyDeleteI have yet another reason to love you guys. Brilliant!

Wonderful! You and Sesame Street have the best "Call me Maybe" videos. No surprise that Sesame Street was invented by the kind of people who care about public radio and TV. Thanks!
